WOVEN ART
I have always enjoyed the process of making, working directly with fabric. My work focuses on the key principles of colour and textural distortion.
Through weaving, I have found a medium to create contemporary design and translate my unique perspective as a disabled designer.
I am constantly drawn to the tactility of objects which translates within my woven art.
When I am weaving, I work very closely with the materials. Paying content attention to the details and working intuitively to create luxury tactile fabrics.
I love exploring the potential of colour and texture through weave, working in harmony to create highly textured fabrics that translate my personal perception as a person living with a disability.
I want to create an emotional response to my work. What I love about hand-woven cloth are the subtle imperfections that give each surface character, making every piece unique.
It’s a labour of love, but the ability to translate my blurred reality is a unique opportunity.
