Organic Architect is a textile collection that draws from the beauty of the juxtaposition of the organic and geometric.
This project was a live project collaboration with Milliken Floors Europe. As the winning collection my final carpet tile concepts were developed into physical 50 cm x 50 cm tiles
The fundamental concept of this projects is the idea of observing the evening sunset from the fifth floor in Manchester’s MediaCity overlooking the river Irwell that flows below; the architectural structures dissolve into the water crafting a beautiful juxtaposing composition.
The colour palette was inspired by the vibrant hues of the sunset developed alongside research about the relationship between col- our and productivity. The woven pieces within this collection com- bine the geometric with the organic. This provides a functional yet calming aesthetic, helping ease workplace tensions whilst simulta- neously inspiring and encouraging creative minds.
This collection is specifically designed for a commercial office environment of the digital marketing agency, Quay’s Creative. Quay’s Creative employ creative and passionate people, who require a space that can meet a range of needs: presenting and sharing ideas; to meet and discuss; and to relax and recharge.
